Full course description
Rice University offers an online mathematics camp to review mathematical tools and concepts that are used in the first-year Economics Ph.D. courses. This course will cover topics including Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Calculus, Optimization and Difference and Differential Equations. In the audit version, students will have access to lecture videos and course content but no interaction with an instructor will be available. There are 20 lectures in total. Students will complete concept check questions, homework and quizzes for each module to reinforce what they’ve learned and test their skills. Certificates will be issued upon successful completion of all coursework. The course is self-paced, so you can work on your own schedule and timeline. You will have access to course materials through May 1, 2025 and can work in a way that best fits your schedule. Because the course is online, you can take it from anywhere in the world. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection.
